Geneviève Dorang ,
a multi media artist, was born in Belgium. She came to the United
States in 1961. After a career as a language teacher and in business,
she attended the Rhode Island School of Design. Upon graduation
with a degree in photography, she moved to Paris where she did
some free-lance photojournalism and worked in productions of multi-projectors
audio-visuals. Her work was published in The Washington Post, The
Boston Globe and The Los Angeles Times. She returned to the United
States in 1990 and lives in North East Pennsylvania. Besides photography,
Geneviève works in watercolor, oil and mixed media as well
as creating conceptual art. She has exhibited her photographic
work as well as paintings in Paris and in several galleries in
the United States. She is a member of The North Mountain Art League. |
While Genevève was busy with all
her endeavors in Paris, her husband, Robert, was writing a romantic/historical
novel. Unfortunately, Robert ultimately suffered from lymphoma
and passed away while in the process of sending the manuscript
to literary agents and publishers. After editing and designing
the book and the cover, Geneviève self-published “The Schoolmistress” therefore
completing Robert’s work. The book is available through our
site and part of the proceeds from the sale is donated for cancer
research.

A few years ago Geneviève made a bed jacket
for her friend Tracy hospitalized with Leukemia and complaining
from the coldness of her room. Acknowledged and thanked for the
practicality of the gift, Genevieve made more jackets to give
to ailing friends. She also designed reversible hats of the same ultrasoft fabric. Now the jackets and hats are available through this site. Part of the proceeds from the sale of each jacket is donated
for cancer research in memory of Tracy, Geneviève’s husband
and friends and other family’s members who have passed
or are suffering from cancer. |
Geneviève wishes you good health and happiness.
